Privacy Policy
This policy explains what this website collects, how that information is used, and who receives the details you send through the booking form. This is a lead-generation website, and this policy is written to make that plain. Last updated July 2026.
About this website and who runs it
This website advertises appliance repair under the name Michigan Appliances Repair. It is run as a lead-generation and advertising service by [PLACEHOLDER: OPERATOR LEGAL ENTITY NAME, for example a Michigan LLC] (referred to here as “we” and “us”). The operator of this website is the party responsible for the personal information you submit here.
The repair work itself is carried out by an independent, licensed appliance repair company that we partner with to serve your area. That repair company is a separate business from the operator of this website, and the partner company can change over time.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email us at query@michiganappliancesrepair.com.
What we collect when you use the booking form
The booking form asks for your first and last name, your phone number, which appliance has failed, your ZIP code, a short description of the problem, and optionally your email address. Please do not put anything sensitive in the description box.
When you submit the form we also record your IP address, your browser type, and the date and time of the submission. We do this to prevent spam and to know which area a request came from.
Your submission is stored in the database of this website and is emailed to us and to the repair partner who will contact you.
What we collect automatically when you browse
Standard web server information: your IP address, your browser type, the pages you view, and the website that referred you.
When you click a booking button we record that it was clicked and which page it was on, so we can see which pages lead to enquiries. We do not record telephone calls through this website.
This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and shows an embedded Google Map. Both send a request to Google when a page loads, which means Google receives your IP address, whether or not you interact with the map. If analytics or advertising tags are switched on, they are named in our Cookie Policy.
How your enquiry is shared, and who receives it
This is the most important part of this policy, so please read it. This is a lead-generation website. When you submit the booking form you are not necessarily reaching a single in-house repair team. Your details are passed to the independent appliance repair company that we partner with to cover your area, so that they can contact you and carry out the work.
That repair company, and not the operator of this website, is the party you make your repair agreement with, on their own terms, including their own pricing and their own warranty.
We may receive a fee from a repair company for introducing your enquiry to them. Under California law, the CCPA and CPRA, passing your personal information to a repair company in return for payment is treated as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. You have the right to opt out of this, which is explained under “Your rights” below.
The repair company we partner with in your area can change over time. New enquiries go to the current partner. We do not resell your details to unrelated businesses, to advertisers, to data brokers, or to mailing lists.
We also rely on trusted service providers that process information on our behalf, including our website host, our email provider, and our analytics provider. We will disclose information where the law requires it.
Phone calls and text messages
If you give us your phone number on the form, you are asking us or our repair partner to call you back about your repair. If you would rather not receive a text message, tell us and we will not send one.
Michigan is a one-party consent state for call recording. If calls about your enquiry are recorded, you will be told at the start of the call. [PLACEHOLDER: confirm whether calls are recorded, and if so, that a recorded-call notice is in place.]
How long we keep your information
We keep booking submissions for as long as we need them to handle your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards for our records. [PLACEHOLDER: set a real retention period, for example 24 months, and hold to it.] You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Server logs are kept for as long as our hosting provider retains them.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email query@michiganappliancesrepair.com and we will action your request.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of it. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of these rights.
To opt out of your enquiry being sold or shared with a repair company, email query@michiganappliancesrepair.com with the words “Do Not Sell or Share” in the subject line, or do not use the booking form and contact us by email instead.
Security
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. No website is perfectly secure, so please do not send anything through the form that you would not be comfortable sending by email.
Children
This website is aimed at homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage.
